Rechargeable Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) Detector
Recently, I decided that I wanted to determine if there are any unhealthy levels of electromagnetic radiation in the electronics my family uses on a daily basis. As well as the various electronic devices/appliances around the house.

Finding the EMF detector
Because my kids spend time on their phones, I wanted to see how damaging electromagnetic radiation might be to them.
I went to Amazon.com and began looking for radiation detectors. As I began searching, I realized that I actually needed to be looking for EMF (electromagnetic field) detectors. Therefore, I changed my search request and started going through the possibilities. And there were plenty to choose from.
Even though a majority of them look the same, I found that the options between them were different. The majority of them stated that they were good for ghost hunting. However, for me, that was irrelevant. My goal was to determine the safety of the various electrical items in and around my household.
Because I wanted one that was rechargeable, I knew that had to be a part of my search criteria as well. I don’t want to replace batteries if I don’t have to.
After reading through all of the reviews, and options, I decided to purchase the “Allprettyall EMF Meter Rechargeable Electromagnetic Radiation Detector” (link below). It’s rechargeable, easy to read, and gives clear indicators/warnings for unhealthy levels of electromagnetic radiation. Note, the detector can be set to buzz instead of an auditory alarm if so desired.
Tested smart phones
Here are some of the things I found through my testing. There’s more electromagnetic radiation that we’re exposed to on a daily basis than we might realize. For instance, did you know that electromagnetic radiation goes through your wired earbuds if you have your phone charging?
If you’re charging your phone, using power from an electric socket (and not a battery charger), that electromagnetic radiation will go through the phone, and through your wired earbuds, into your ears. Which of course is near your brain.
When I realized that, I told my kids that there were no longer allowed to wear their wired earbuds while charging their phones. Unless they’re to use a battery pack charger. That doesn’t have enough juice to indicate a significant/unhealthy reading. The wireless earbuds, that I tested, don’t put off enough radiation to trigger the detector either.
Additionally, even if the phone is not plugged in, the majority of the electromagnetic radiation emitting from the phone actually comes out of the earpiece speaker. Meaning, the area we’d normally put to our ear when speaking on it. The radiation emits out roughly one inch. No longer do I hold cell phones directly to my ear.
Tested appliances
Another thing that I realized, and my family understands this now as well, is that we have to stay roughly three feet from the microwave while it’s running. Once it turns off though, it’s safe to go back to it again. After it’s done cooking, the detector couldn’t identify any significant levels of radiation on or inside the microwave (including whatever was being heated up). Only when it’s actively running.
Another thing I learned, is that I shouldn’t leave my hands resting on my keyboard unless I’m actively typing. Yep, electromagnetic radiation goes through wired keyboards as well. Thankfully, just like the earpiece of the cell phone, the area is roughly one inch from the keyboard. Setting my hands roughly one inch, or more, away from the keyboard is sufficient. Since I use a wireless mouse, I don’t have to worry about it. Just like the wireless earbuds, the wireless mouse doesn’t put off enough electromagnetic radiation to indicate unhealthy levels on the detector.
The EMF detector provides not only a visual warning when it detects elevated levels of radiation but also an audio warning. There’s no doubt, you’ll know when unhealthy levels are detected.
It’s rechargeable, it comes with a charging cable, instructions, and a five-year guarantee. If you’re not completely satisfied with it, for any reason, return it within five years for a free replacement or full refund.
Tested potential houses
My family and I recently went searching for a new house in Florida. I took this device with us to each and every house we visited.
Before entering the house, I checked the levels on the outside. You might be surprised how high the levels of electromagnetic radiation might be surrounding your house.
Some of the houses, we visited, had nearby electrical transformers. They help control the electricity that flows through the power lines and into our homes. The area near them can be extremely high. For some of the ones we visited, they were too high.
Without this device, we would’ve never known that the levels were as high as they were (or high at all for that matter). We couldn’t feel those toxic levels.
I didn’t stop checking once we entered the house either. On the inside, some of the houses had high electrical and/or magnetic levels. The device conveniently splits them up for you. It’s important to know that because some levels are toxic to the body. Especially magnetic levels when it comes to children and cancer.

The primary areas to check are those where you and your family will spend most of your time. That could be both outside and inside the house. Locations like bedrooms, living/family rooms, bathrooms, etc. Unfortunately, there were a few houses we had to reject because the levels were just too high.
For me, my family’s well-being was far more important than any house.
Below are some of the features of this EMF detector:
- Precise Measurement: Equipped with a built-in electromagnetic radiation sensor, which can display the radiation value on the clear LCD digital display after processing by control micro-chip. Testing magnetic field radiation with optional units mG/µT, the electric field with unit V/m. This EMF meter cannot test the RF value.
- Sound-Light Alarm: When the testing result of the EMF detector exceeds the value(0.4µT (4mG) or 40V/m), the indicator will be flashing and the screen will turn red, and the will produce an audio alarm. If you’re testing some quiet areas, you can set it to buzz instead. This will help to avoid disturbing others.
- Multifunction of Radiation Detector: Testing average or peak value (Maximum) reading, and one key hold the data for a view. Auto powers off after 5 minutes without operation. Measuring the temperature in the air with unit ℃/℉. Large and back-light LCD is clear for viewing.
- Electromagnetic Radiation Test: ghost detector, mobile phone, computer, TV set, refrigerator, and high voltage cable radiation test.
- Radiation Protection Product Test: Test effects of radiation-proof clothes, radiation-proof film, and other prevention articles.
- Easy to Carry: It’s small pocket size and light weight design makes it more popular with users. The free charging cable makes it more convenient for you to use anywhere. A cleaning cloth for cleaning after use.
