Actually, I got the device to keep in my wife’s car. She likes to go to the store late at night to grab an item or two.
Because of that, I wanted to get something in the event that her vehicle wouldn’t start because of the battery. And it’s a good thing that I did.
Not long ago, we were on a long-distance trip. We had stopped to allow the dogs to run around after we got gas. Unfortunately, we had left the car on (but not running) and it drained the battery.
To keep the kids entertained, we left the DVD player running. We were next to the car, but not inside of it. We didn’t hear the vehicle tell us that the battery was low.
When we got back in, to start it up, it wouldn’t start.
We were at a gas station, but it was in the middle of the night. And we were at a place that we didn’t know or trust.
It’s small and compact
Thankfully, we had the Rumia Jump Starter in the vehicle. It’s smaller and conveniently fits in most places within the vehicle. We keep it under the seat.
When I hooked it up to the battery, nothing happened. The car still wouldn’t start.
I checked the cables again, to make sure they were on the battery leads. And they were.
Next, I went to make sure that the connector was fully seated to the Jump Starter. It wasn’t.
Once I made sure it was connected all the way, I went back and this time the vehicle started up.
I’ve also had to use it on the riding lawnmower after it sat all winter. With the location of the battery, I’m not sure a pair of full-size jumper cables would’ve fit in that tiny area. This fit perfectly.

If it’s at night, or you just need something to see in a dark area, there’s also a very bright flashlight on it.
Use the vehicle’s battery to recharge it
Once the battery in the Jump Starter starts to go down, if you have a charger in there, you can hook it up to your vehicle and re-charge it.
This little device is very versatile, compact, and has proven to be an essential tool for me and my family.
Here’s a good alternative to the Rumia Jump Starter
The last I checked the Rumia Jump Starter was out of stock on Amazon. I looked and found another jump starter that’s just as good. It’s the NOCO Jump Starter. The two are very similar to one another.
They both have multiple USB ports, a flashlight, and they both let you know the remaining battery charge. The principles are still the same with either device. And believe me, the jump starter comes in very handy.
Personally, I believe a jump-starter should be a part of everyone’s vehicle emergency kit.
